So this past season I decided it was time for a optics upgrade. I wanted a compact, high power binocular that wouldn't break the bank. After a lot of debating and flip-flopping between Nikon, Leupold, and Redfield I went with a pair of 10x42 Redfield Rebels. Honestly I was skeptical when I first started shopping. The Rebels set me back a total of $180 and I was comparing them with Nikon's and Leupold's in the $400-500 range. The biggest downfall is the weight of the binos followed by not being fog proof, but after a hard season of use those are the only things I could find wrong with them. They are crystal clear, the image is very sharp even out to the edge, they allow alot of light in for dawn and dusk hunting. I was able to see details about 15-20 mins before by buddy could with his Leopold Wind Rivers. I hunted in alot of extreme weather this year...wind, rain, snow, 0 degree temps, rugged mountains and never had an issue. over all I would rate these a 10 for quality for the value. I honestly never thought $150 binos would be so wonderful.

Boy is that good to know. I've been looking at the $400 Niks and I just couldn't bring myself to bite the bullet. $200 is much easier to swallow...i might have to try these. --thanks

Yeah the RRebel binos are awesome.

It's not the size of the dog that matters...it's the size of the gun his owner has that counts.

Is it possible to get the anit-fogging liquid to spray on the lenses or will they absorb the liquid and cloud up?

I have not tried it yet but I don't think that it would have any effect since the binos are waterproof i don't think the spray would penetrate. Since it's still cold and snowy out here I'll give it a try and report back.
