The snow and ice are melting, time for some fishing!!
I have about a half acre pond and each year I debate on different things I can do for better management of my fish. I have been lucky that over the last 20 years, our pond was less attended to but we have always had big fish in the pond.
This year I was thinking about doing the typical food pellets from a mill or feeding dead minnows to the fish from the local bait shop. What do others recommend? Other ideas? Preferably cheap in cost ideas....

A cheap and easy fix that I was told about is to get a deer feeder and add extra pipe extensions to the legs with bolts. Set it up in the shallow part of the pond. As for food, the guy who mentioned it to me recommended using cheap dog food. It is mostly made with wheat and has high protein. With a set of waders its an easy fill and forget it way to feed your fish.

That is an amazing idea. If nothing else it might finally entice the dog to take a bath

It's not the size of the dog that matters...it's the size of the gun his owner has that counts.

I like that suggestion, mite have to try it myself. Shouldn't you feed the catfish cat food tho?

That is a very good idea actually and I'm in the process of trying it out. I think the hardest part so is trying to find the right size, cheap dog food that will run through my Moultrie without clogging the spreader. Non the less, its worth a shot. Thanks
